On November 5, 2004, I wrote in my diary:
Life is like riding on your very own bus: people get on, people get off, sometimes they get back on every day at the same time and sometimes you never see them again, and the bus never stops, endlessly riding into the sunset.
If you take public transportation you tend to see the same people for years--and then you don't for whatever reason. It was also inspired by a scene in a film (which I can't remember) where a scene of a bus stop appeared twice in the film--the first time where the character was waiting at the stop, the bus passes, and the person is still there. The second time the bus passes and the person is no longer there.
