Huge Marilyn Monroe sculpture by Seward Johnson erected in Pioneer Plaza. I have not seen it yet but this is quintessential kitsch. The only interesting thing about it is that it is a hyperbolic projection of a film still from The Seven Year Itch. I like the idea of projecting or translating different mediums onto other mediums to see what they reveal. This clearly doesn't work and will foment a fierce public backlash.
